How Thunder Bay Hydro is Working to Save Energy

Streetlight Program
We created savings of 1.2 million kWh/annually by working with the City of Thunder Bay to convert standard traffic lights to L.E.D.

Minimizing our Carbon Footprint
It is important to practice what we preach.  Thunder Bay Hydro staff areas are equipped with both confidential shredding bins and scrap paper bins for recycling.  Brochures and stationary are printed on recycled paper. Food consumption areas provide for aluminum can recycling.  Many offices have motion sensor switches to light up offices only when they are occupied.
