Time of Use Rate Rollout

Time of Use pricing for electricity will begin to be implemented during Autumn 2011. Thunder Bay Hydro staggers billing for its customers over a 30 day (business) or 60 day (residential) period.

You will need to refer to the "Meter Reading Period" on the second page of your last statement to calculate when your account will transition to the new pricing. When the START DATE of your Meter Read period is October 12 or later you will transition to the new Time of Use rates.

This means that some customers will be charged Time of Use rates as early as October 12 and see this on their bills on December 1 (business) or January 3 (residential). Others may not begin to be charged based on Time of Use until December 10 and won't see this on their bills until February 28.

Please watch for inserts and information on your individual Thunder Bay Hydro statement.

If you are not sure when your meter read period begins, it is simply a good idea to begin to shift your electricity use now.
